For progeny and posterity.

Characterising myself has never come easily. I believe that everybody I know has some mental model of myself that approximates, but never matches, who I really am, and I'm no exception to that. A famous William James quote goes, "a man has as many social selves as there are individuals who recognise him and carry an image of him in their mind," and the feeling that this overwhelmingly evokes in me is that of being misunderstood. I hope that this website will make people understand who I am better.

I usually go by the moniker Seriaura on the internet, but I've also been known as Seriorance, Deceitful, Vyclic, iiSeveranceS, Xxawesomeguy2, and awesomepower21467000, courtesy of some Roblox YouTube channels I made when I was 11. For the time being, I'm indifferent to whether you use my moniker or my real name.

Recently, I've hiked Seven Sisters, flown to Prague twice for the Arb Retreat and the FABRIC alumni reunion (a wonderful joy), attended EAGxOxford (which entailed racing the Vitality 10K in London and immediately commuting to Oxford thereafter), and had a lot more impromptu fun. Currently, I'm studying for the TMUA (take two) and returning to running; soon, I'll be watching a special flavour of improvised comedy at the Hammersmith Apollo and reuniting one last time with my Impact First group.

If you'd like to see an overview of my career, education, or projects, my uppercase website's likely what you're looking for, albeit with some overlap.

Listening to
the world.

I really like:
  • listening to liquid or dancefloor drum-and-bass — in particular, Liquicity's flavour of it. I struggle to describe why I like this in particular, but it seems to evoke such a broad spectrum of feelings: melancholy, euphoria, emotion, overwhelm, nostalgia, and so much more; it all took me to solo-tripping Liquicity Festival this year (just three months after I'd turned 18) and it was incredible;
  • long-distance running — I've ran five half-marathons (local ones: twice Hampton Court, Surrey, Ealing, and the Martian Race), and I'm also running the Bath Half and the Brighton Marathon soon;
  • travelling — I have become obsessed with the ineffable feeling of liberation that comes with getting lost in a different country, and I'd be super keen to discuss how this manifests in you;
  • self-expression — I blog irregularly, I've created two personal websites (including this), I've made actual Seriaura merch, and I'm really interested in how I can be more "me";
  • graphic design — I have a painstaking attention to detail; I've spent hours on random projects I ended up loving and, in gleeful pride, staring at for comparable lengths of time — it's a pity I'm slowly growing obsolete;
  • adoring the Josh-isms;
  • counting down to things;
  • talking to people. DM me!
